The Juggle is Real

Once upon a time there was a very dangerous virus. It swept across the world like a big dark shadow...

It forced us apart. 🙍‍♀️ 👵 🙅🏽‍♂️

And it forced us together. 👩‍👩‍👧‍👧

It made us hide. 😷

And it made us reveal. 🙋🏽‍♀️

And the revealing was a most exquisite moment.

Before the shadow, we were comfortable. And...we were pretending. We went to work and we pretended. We pretended to be 100% focused, devoted. With our minds juggling more pins than Anthony Gatto, we pretended - to our colleagues, our bosses, our employees, our customers - that we were there for them and only them.

And then...we couldn't hide anymore. Our kids starting popping in on our calls. 🤸🏽‍♂️ Our dogs needed out in the middle of a meeting. 🐕 Our aging parents needed groceries. 🛒 Our spouse recovering from illness needed us to wipe down our own groceries. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Long before the shadow arrived our kids were popping in, our dogs needed out, our parents and spouses needed our help. The shadow delivered with it, an opportunity. Behind every shadow is the sun, after all. The opportunity was to finally stop pretending our minds and our hearts weren't pulled in all directions. The opportunity was to give one another the permission, the grace, the freedom, to be pulled.

Finally, we could acknowledge that the juggle is real, the juggle has always been real, and it's okay.

This revealing has been a most exquisite moment. Juggle on...
